When you invite MAS to do a first-pass 'quick' FCC Compliance Audit we meet with you and your staff to explain the reason we're there and to allay any concerns. We have no enforcement or arrest powers, and we don't write 'tickets' and we don't tattle. We are literally there to help you avoid those things if the Federal Government finds your violations before we do.
The First-Pass Audit looks for the ten most common violations of the FCC Rules for your type of station. The Rules are slightly different depending on whether you are an FM station, or AM station with one or more than one tower; where you are on the dial; what your authorized power is, Class of station, etc. Some Rules are more stringent than others. You accompany us each step of the way during the Audit. There's nothing secret about it, and it only takes a few hours. You direct us to your studio and transmitter site, and we observe conditions and make notes on our forms. When finished, we give you a copy of our forms and discuss the ramifications of our findings. You pay us our agreed fee, and we drive away.
